how do sell orders work exactly? If a coin is at 300 sats and I think its going to drop and put a sell order in at 200 - will it drop lower than 200 before it sells or will I always be able to sell at 200

I literally don't know what to believe anymore. Lost about $5000 recently and now I feel completely lost about what I should invest in. Everything I put money in that I feel has a strong team / use case seems to just tank and I continue losing money.
