>>Immigration should be unlimited and unrestrained and borders should be dissolved
While I admire the idealism of this statement, I have to say that in practice, this will never work, because this could result in a malicious entity such as a hostile state, or a hostile corporation(LOL) using the open border to march an army into your "Libertine Anarcho-dice"
>>50286444
>Pure libertarianism is no government at all, but the american branch is mostly what you describe here, yes.
If pure Libertarianism is no government at all, then what is the point in calling it "Libertarianism"?
Your definition just sounds like Anarchism

Holding any crypto people should be just as paranoid and stress the importance of why you shouldn't do something like tell people how much you have or store your mnemonic phrase in plaintext. Or why you should use a hardware wallet or airgapped machine for your cold wallet. I guess new people and degenerate gamblers might not care as much.
So honestly I'll play bobo and argue that it's a valid argument for why cryptocurrency in general will never reach mass adoption because of what fundamentally defines cryptocurrency. With crypto if you lose access to your keys then they are not recoverable, that's just how they're designed. Maybe I'm not up to speed on some crypto that's different though because I really don't research shitcoins, but if it's different, that's not crypto.
And this will be a rant but I hate the word crypto, digital asset is more accurate imo because crypto has a much broader meaning and xmr is the only one that people actually use as a currency anyway.
Although I'm pretty sure btc is still used for the majority of illicit "crypto" transactions, because the news article reporting the last takedown of a large darknet market said it was the largest in terms of volume ahead of the one that only accepts xmr (though I think at the time of that takedown they did accept btc, and I'm not sure how glowies can even keep track of xmr volume.)
I assume most btc (and maybe even xmr) txs are related to trading/speculation, I would guess the percentage of xmr txs that aren't purely speculative would be much higher. Not that tx count really matters since a lot of it can be spam, but xmr is the only one used as a currency since with most coins a 3rd party service immediately exchanges it for fiat and the fees involved makes it pointless for anyone to use it over their debit/credit card.
But like I said I don't really keep track of new shitcoins too much, I also don't really consider anything non-PoW crypto but that's for another rant.

"Creating an electronic currency is a big deal precisely because control over the medium of exchange is one of the three ingredients of a state." "If you take away the state's monopoly over the means of economic interaction, then you take away one of the three principal ingredients of a state. In the model of the state as a mafia, where the state is a protection racket, the state shakes people down for money in every possible way. Controlling currency flows is important for revenue-raising by the state, but it is also important for simply controlling what people do- incentivizing one thing, disincentivizing another thing, completely banning a certain activity, or an organization, or interactions between organizations." "Government regulation has made particular financial players kings and doesn't allow other market entrants. Economic freedom has been impinged by an elite group that is able to influence both regulation and the principles involved in these banks."

XMR is not just a smart gamble (all crypto is a gamble)- it's a legitimate, small act of protest against the increasing global surveillance state.

>At a meeting of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, a political advisory body, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing from May 21, 10 members proposed a plan to create a digital currency consisting of the Chinese yuan, Japanese yen, South Korean won and Hong Kong dollar.

>On Thursday the House Financial Services Committee (FSC) Task Force on Financial Technology convened on Capitol Hill to discuss the possible role of a digital dollar in distributing COVID-19 relief payments. The watchdogs discussed FedAccounts, or cryptographic wallets held by the Federal Reserve, for commercial banking services. The National Science Foundation, an independent branch of the federal government, has given blockchain startup KRNC $225,000 to design cryptocurrency features for the U.S. dollar.

It's inevitable that all world governments will want to transition away from private and fungible cash to a paperless economy- one where they have complete and total financial surveillance. Get ready to hear politicians tell you that paper money spreads disease and is an archaic remnant of the past.
