so i've been making big money working as a senior software developer

i have 200000$ ready to invest.

the way i see it, i want to put it on a hedge against a recession ( which means i'll probably lose my job)
don't want to put it on stocks because if stocks are doing good it probably means my job is safe, and i will continue making big bucks.

as a hedge, gold and silver were my intuition, but when i actually looked at the charts, the thing i don't understand is, why the fuck does gold and especially silver dumps with the market ?

how the fuck i'm i supposed to hedge against a recession now ?
