Im a mid wit and had just had this argument with my in laws both are lawyers. I say, culture drives the law. The law has terms of "reasonable" . Well what is reasonable? That is culturally determined. I see "meme complexes" and I think culture. These guys also are of the sort to want gun control laws. Remove the guns(technology), control the money (economoy) . Control the economy with fiat , control the culture "meme complexes" through law and economic threats. Why did we use hard money to begin with? Were governements collapsing so often their fiat had no confidence? What was the real catalyst to fiat systems and why we keep using them dispite the disadvantages?

I guess I didn't make this clear. Living off of one income means we only spend one income. She works and pays all the bills. My money is used for buying shit, saving and investing.

No they removed the silver/gold standard that devalued all our money 1892 and moved it to only the gold standard. Destroying the demand for half of the primary money(silver) devalued USD by 60% while it was backed only by gold. They gold standard it how jews more easily manipulate currencies. Now all currencies that arent USD are backed by 80% usd and 20% gold/domestic currency. USD is backed by the confidence the government wont collapse and general agreement everyone will accept it as money.
