Question for ACTUAL experienced options veterans:
How reliable is "the wheel"? I've been trading options for a while: calls, puts, spreads, condors-- you name it. (havent found them to be very reliable for income yet) now that ive finally got enough money I've started selling cash covered puts. Frankly, it seems too good to be true. something like 1% a week? why isnt everyone doing this? Ive got around 40k that I have never touched for trading but now im thinking I should start running the wheel with it. any tips? also from a tax perspective, is it better to avoid assignment? I'm also waiting on a 10,000 student loan that I took out as a "biden debt forgiveness insurance policy" thinking of wheeling that too. of course I want to yolo it onto GME but ive already lost enough money like that. So has anyone run the wheel long enough to really make some progress? are you still doing it?
