britbong here; can confirm that this is our reality. generally, the further north you go the worse it is... scotland is absolutely catastrophic, though the NORF is pretty terrible, too, as is the midlands (protip: go to liverpool for easy girls with scummy accents)

yes they do drink like absolute beasts partly due to the coke, partly due to tolerance and partly due to culture
yes they do drink spirits (vodka coke, gin and tonic are favourites)
