Anyone in here ever go back to school for a masters in accounting with a non-accounting bachelors? I dropped out of professional school because I hated it. My bachelors degree is thoroughly worthless and I've always liked business and money, so I'm thinking about getting an MAcc degree. My goal is to get a CPA designation and then work for the Big 4 for 5-10 years before jumping ship to private accounting. Seems like a good career path with plenty of room for advancement in either public accounting (partner) or private accounting (controller or managerial roles like VP of finance, CFO, etc.) I'd be happy to hear your experiences, if any of you have taken this route.
