observe the brutality of the insect kingdom. the ruthless nature of it. unforgiving. cruel. this is the real world. nature will trample the weakness from your bones until you beg for death. remember this. the laws do not change nor can they be changed, your ignorance or inability of come to terms with the facts will be your downfall.

I recognize now that money makes the world go round in a capitalist country, I get that most normalfags are shit with money and are doomed to forever be mediocre wageslaves making sub 50k/year

Shit is so fucked that even my own mom with her 2 bachelor degrees, years and years of experience, and being in her early 50s, somehow managed to fuck up so bad that she only makes upper 80k/year / lower90k / year
And yet I've been told that if I become the manager of my local papa johns that I will make 40k / year (nearly half of what she makes and at age 20)

I get that being even a PHD. level scientist is a dead end because you cap at around 130-150k / year
Service industry is fucked unless you run the shit (like regional manager of many different states or something if not higher ranked than that)
Blue collar shit like construction is done
Having "The Office" be your life is trash unless you are a very high ranking member of the company that all the cast of the show's bosses would be kissing ass to
Reading the 48 laws of power along with my other life experience + seeing how much of a racket college is for 95% of people going to it really makes me re-evaluate where I want to go with my life
Having money feels so good, it enables everything and not having it disables everything

I feel like I need to go full wolf of wallstreet / great gatsby / american psycho, but how?
Stock broker? Banker? Corporate finance?
Also is bitcoin / cyrpto currency in general worth anything or no?

Worth it to start experimenting with stocks?
I get that college can be good but only if you go about it in an extremely particular way (masters in some kind of financial field)

Tried posting this yesterday but the thread died before it could render a meaningful response.

A couple of years ago, I invested in a couple of mutual funds through T. Rowe Price. In particular, their New Era (natural resources, including oil) and Health Sciences (health care) funds - PRNEX and PRHSX, respectively.

Returns have been okayish (around 5.5% since inception) but I am in the process of branching out into other investment opportunities and am thinking about selling out my current funds so that I can work with that money as well. It's only about $11k in value there but every dollar counts.

I was wondering if I should keep holding onto these shares for the long term or if there is a certain point at which I should look at selling. PRNEX has pretty much stayed level to when I bought into it (right after the big dip in oil prices late 2014) but PRHSX has started to pick up a little steam in the last couple of months.

Any other thoughts about these two funds in particular, and how the future might shape up for them or their respective industries, are also welcomed.

I am 16 years old and am looking for some advice. A few months ago I dropped out of high school (High honor roll student and president of a club so I'm not exactly a deadbeat fortunately) I believe most of you here are probably in the 19-30 age range and most have gone to college. I already have my GED so now I am looking at career options and college courses (pharmacology interests me but I am open minded). Since you have experience, can anyone give personal insight on which degrees you should go for and which ones you shouldnt? Should I even go to college? What have you other highschool dropouts done?

I should also mention that I have 6 months of literally doing nothing until I turn 17 (to get my liscense and drive to the college). Any recommendations of what I should do in that time? I have about a grand saved up from working if that matters. Thinking about using Robinhood.

I am looking to be spoonfed, I just don't have anyone like a guidance counselor to discuss this with. I'm just looking for personal experiences and advice. Thanks

first step to success is getting banned from 4chan

I dont want to be a slave to a 9-5 job when I'm 20 and end up never retiring. How stupid of an idea would it be to drop put of high school and start early on a business or computer related career? I'd like to take a different path so I don't end up where the people my age will. It's just an idea, but can dropping out and starting something right now be any more beneficial to graduating high school? I have all the Adderall I can get my hands on and the motivation to actually work for a good future. Anyone else do this or dreamed about it? I have no problem staying because I have great grades but I feel like this can turn out differently

What the fuck just happened /biz/?

>Not great market where I live
>Most jobs are casual and turbulent
>Business seeking permanent part-time
>Go for interview
>Goes well thanks to learning /biz/ness tricks
>Tell me they call me in the next couple of days
>Very next day get call asking if I'd be interested in trying a casual position "Just to see if you'd fit in and like working here..."
>Say I'm interested, but apologise as I'm currently busy but will get back to them in next 48 hours
>"Okay, thanks Anon"
>two hours later get a call
>Same person as before
>"Anon, after thinking about it some more, I'm going to have to withdraw the offer [which?]; you either want it or you don't. Thank you for your time"
>Still busy, can't quite process what's happened so mumble "T-thanks, you t-"
>Hangs up

Now everyone I've told this to is telling me I should have just said "Yes".

Initially I thought they tried to downgrade me from part-time to casual, but now I'm wondering if it really was an attempt to help get me accustomed to their workplace. Now I'm worried I just scuttled any hope of getting any position there at all.

I'm going to call them tomorrow and ask if the Part-Time position has been filled, or is that acting too thirsty?

Hey /biz/ I'm in charge of the financial aspects of a school project where we propose a product to investors. What sources can I look to for ideas on predicting a reasonable rate of return, initial investment etc. without just pulling numbers out of my butt? Right now I'm just watching Shark Tank
