I currentley have $7k and am saving for a down payment on a house in KS.

I feel like the economy is going to shit itsself really hard sometime this year. Instead of putting my $$$ into a saving account should I just put it all into gold? I have roughly $2k every month that I can invest.

Also, I currentley own about $5k of graded world coins as a hobby. Is this really something that tends to appreciate over time or nah?
