Teach them how to trade among each other using the silver you are providing (at a cost, obviously). Find out who sells food, bullets or services for silver and tell them. Things like that. Consider your silver as a catalyst to jump start your local economy. When the dollar breaks silver will be the most desirable and necessary commodity of them all. Use it, buy stuff, inject it hand over fist as you please. Keep as much as you feel necessary but your purchasing power will peak in the aftermath of the dollar collapse as people scramble to get real money and then go down as things sort themselves out. It's not you who needs the silver, it's those who don't have any but need it for trade. If you don't want to buy anything consider just exchanging it for gold, but if Weimar is any indication you probably want to slurp up some land and housing at least.
