From what I hear their approach is to...create their own balancer pool from scratch, but they need to hire a dev team as they admitted Scott stepped away from the project some time ago. I truly don't see this happening for some time, $Stonk is making a point to make it's entire community who pooled whole again, using dev funds set aside for various things like marketing or I suppose unseen things like this.

Now that this new contract removes that burn function, we're no longer subject to the same kind of attack - we're also much more likely to get whitelisted for BAL rewards.
Note that the burn function is not necessary for $STONK's development & use as an ETF indicator for DeFi.
