No they matter. Banks still have to hand out loans. If people begin to hold less money in banks it means banks become limited in the amount of loans they can hand out. Compound this with increasing inflation and higher pressure to protect money. Also now the banks are beholden to the government who has the entire banking system by the balls for the first time in a long fucking time and the FED now has 0 impetus to lower rates allowing them to punish the banks even more.

It doesn't matter how much liquidity the FED injects if people can't use it then it doesn't matter.
