yes but if you want actual passive income you need high dividend stocks, reits like o mpw pay monthy dividends 7% yoy income etfs like jepi jepq and schd pay monthly as well. don't use the d.r.i.p. in your brokerage account and use those divvies to live. Basically you can get 10k a year for every 100k you have invested with this strategy. not saying msft is a bad choice, but it'd be like me asking you if i should buy eth or btc...it wouldn't be true passive income

the point of jepi is to generate income from dividends, it should crab by design, and should be purchased low as possible to have the highest dividend yield

you get the full thing if you're a holder of record 3 days before exdiv. companies and etfs can decrease or increase divvies at any moment, also they can surprise with special divvies like zim and sark last year but there's no way to predict that

so black we buy, then after exdiv red we sell and hop into black again to wheel dividends, no drip hoard the cash and actively underperform jepi still
