This just reminded me of a story
>at a music festival sometime 2016 (around election time when pepe was labeled as a hate symbol)
>Music festival is so big that people carry around totems so lost friends can find them in crowds of people (pic related)
>see a pepe flag totem in the distance and think whoever is holding that is one of us
>go to the totem and find a group of asian kids holding it
>Decide to fuck around a bit with the guy and go up and ask him why he's holding a totem with a hate symbol
>look of confusion on his face and I realize he has no idea what the fuck I am talking about. He doesn't really even know what pepe is other then "funny meme frog"
>I play it up a bit more and tell him that it's a symbol for white nationalism and often synonymous with neo-nazis and skinheads
>he tells me that he had no idea! He thanks me for looking out for him
>I wonder if I should tell him I was just fucking with him
>nah.... fuck that. I think its funny he buys it so easily
>I tell him "No problem man! just thought I'd let you know!"
>I walk away and can see him and his friend looking puzzled
>As I walk a bit further I turn around again and see him taking his flag down
