There is no (((other equipment))). Planes are literally flying fuel tanks with engines strapped to it that gets lighter as the flight progress. Same thing cannot be said for batteries, which does not get lighter or have the same energy density.

A battery powered plane would be heavier throughout the entire flight AND have less power available therefore less efficient. Not to mention the turn around time. Can't imagine how long it'll take to charge a plane full of batteries.
