man, I'm just annoyed. I might have to sell some of my stack to pay the IRS. I don't think my income checks will cover the taxes owed.
My crypto gains outpaced my job income this year for the first time. And this isn't even factoring in my stocks yet...

Explain something to me, I feel like I am being retarded..

A lot of people chase dividends on their stocks/bonds so they can retire and live off the income from dividends, right? This forbes article lists a portfolio that claims to have an 8.9% dividend.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/michaelfoster/2020/07/14/this-5-fund-portfolio-pays-a-monthly-89-dividend/#64bc359d6d04

But when I take a look at these funds that are listed here, they are all in the red and down-trending over the last 5 years. So do the dividends offset the capital loss? These are close-ended funds so maybe they behave differently to what I am used to. I don't get it.
Personally, I am in growth stocks and crypto now but I am considering what to do when I actually do get upwards of 100k balance. Seems like this article is bullshitting me because if it was that easy, everyone would be doing it, right? Dividend income just seems like a meme. Is there a real way to do it?
