I have a big decision to make /biz/. I’m a product manager in tech with about 10 years of experience. Currently doing some small side projects and I just got two offers:

One is for a startup which is rapidly growing. I’d be their first PM. This startup is in a space with literally no direct competition, and a huge market. They are offering low 6 figure salary plus about 1% equity. It also allows some flex days so it wouldn’t be full wagecuck life. This would require me to dedicate myself almost completely to them though, and my personal projects would fall by the wayside. The equity would eventually likely be very lucrative, and I’d be on the fast path to a c-suite role, at someone else’s company which is not exactly what I want although the money could eventually be absurd.

Offer 2 is from a digital agency which has a number of projects for me to manage. Even just 30 hours a week for them would net the same salary as the startup, and they have more work than that if I want it. This is fully remote. I could continue living my ideal lifestyle of full location independence, occassaionally traveling and working remotely, and with more time to focus on my passion projects.

Do I sell myself to the man for all his riches, or continue living the NEET dream?
