I work tier 2 support and deployments for a midsize security vendor.

Most of these "cyber sec experts" will just run scans on our software, and then mail them to us asking if we think they're a big deal. They will often not understand basic IT concepts, and frequently scan the wrong server and need me to point out that they scanned the wrong appliance.

The field WAS worth big money 5-6 years ago, but the schools caught onto the hype and pushed a lot of retards through easy programs to saturate the field. There's still very good money in IT and it's various fields, but entry level people are going to start seeing their average earnings dropping as more retards settle for dirt wages.

I'm about to drop 24.5k (including delivery/ fees/etc) on a 2024 Toyota Corolla with 0 miles and 2 years of free service + a 10 year powertrain warranty.

She spent the same amount on a car with at least 150k miles that will require 2k+ in repairs per year. That car won't live to see the end of her loan payment period.

last week my boss actually held a firm-wide meeting to talk about how people are arriving 10-15 minutes late (it's a 9-5 job but they expect everyone there are 8am, obviously, and you can't arrive later than 8!) and how that is unacceptable

I arrive 15-20 minutes late every day (I work through lunch) and I'm just going to continue doing that until they fire me. The commute to the office is fucking Hell every morning and I'm not going to make it worse by stressing about arriving late. I've never worked from home but some day I really, really fucking hope I can work from home. I despise small talk, co-workers, and being in the office

IT is ok but you need to be patient. Issues can take many hours and phone calls to resolve. If you work in software there will be bugs that developers refuse to fix because the product managers are pushing them to integrate new functionality to entice new buyers. You'll have users that you'll fantasize about drowning in a bathtub. Executives will think you do nothing until something breaks and then they'll accuse you of doing nothing. It can be pretty thankless, but, if you know your stuff, you'll have the company by the balls and can squeeze more money from them.

Security these days is a flooded market, and I feel like the average wage for security workers will only decline/stagnate as fresh blood enters the market. But networking, database, linux administration, are all strong backgrounds and will afford you greater opportunities.

If you have technical AND people skills, I suggest putting a few years into IT, and then looking into sales engineering/customer success.

I mean, this is literally cope right? Does cope get much more pure than this? You can literally see this happening before your eyes, I can't understand how anybody could deny it. His policies (so far) have been pure poison for the market.

Open to listening to other opinions that aren't pure fucking cope.

It's not really great, especially considering BAT never keeps its gains and will dump soon.

I don't think anyone should sell, but at the same time this shit isn't going from 20 cents to 20 dollars like LINK did. You're fucking kidding yourself if you think BAT is ever going anywhere near that, EVER.

This latest Apple news SHOULD cause a dump, that would have been healthy, but since crypto prices are 99% controlled by bot trading it actually didn't do anything substantial. BAT just dumped along with the market due to daddy bitcoin topping off.

We might head back down to 13 cents and then back up to 25 or something - who gives a fuck though? gotta question why we stick around/support this project in the first place

Real deal Investors probably only really invest a few times a year, they lurk for ages and then when something they think is 100% gonna moon they go all in (like some bullshit profit arbitrage or just stupidly undervalued assets). Best way to think of it as a market exploit that YOU KNOW WILL WORK (very important), but requires an "investment" to initiate the process of making profit. Gamblers on the other hand are completely and utterly clueless to what contributes to their gains or losses, they live in a delusional world where everything follows a pattern that "they" only can observe.
Note that the most successful investors are usually well connected and incredibly social, those connections are key to getting news early and making the right market moves on time. The elite have their own herd mentality cut off from the "main street workers" (normies), its still just as foolish because its human, but they're the ones with the most amount capital/liquidity to actual act on their theories and speculation. Unlike the rest of the normans who spend/gamble away their assets and have 0% influence on the market.

thats just my opinion based of years of lurking tho
