If you're a retail investor and a bull you're going to be double fucked. You're going to lose your job, and then you're going to lose your investment capital too.

You go bullish, the market goes bearish, you're double fucked. You go bearish, the market goes bullish, you keep your job and can easily recoup your losses.

It just makes sense to have a portfolio based upon puts, at least as an insurance policy, unless you already have enough capital to survive 3 - 4 years out of work.
