There is no short squeeze, nor will the short squeeze happen. We just saw Melvin get a $2.5B bailout from Citadel - this is indicative that hedge funds are going to continue piling into shorts, regardless the cost.

This has been a gamma squeeze. Options sellers have been having to buy shares to hedge. And what happens when the share price goes down? Those same shares that were bought to hedge must now be sold to hedge, further driving down the price.
