With so many discord fags here the last few days, can we talk about lenocineum.com?

What we're seeing in parallel to the development of Chainlink is 3 major transitions in the banking sphere. These are
>1) The standardisation of SWIFT messaging standards called ISO20022.
>2) The standardisation of derivatives instruments.
>3) And the release of banking APIs to the open market called "open banking" (PSD2 in Europe).
In regards to the first point SWIFT's 11,000 banks are transitioning to a new uniform messaging standard (for securities and bond payments mostly), and Chainlink has been specifically demonstrated to be able to trigger payments using that messaging standard.
In regards to the second point one of Chainlink's major initial applications is the settlement of global derivatives contracts, and this will be far easier with uniform global standards for the format of these instruments.
In regards to the third point the publication of banking APIs to facilitate new fintech startups will have Chainlink perfectly positioned as the secure API connector that will allow this new industry to leverage the benefits of DLT in their offerings.

The convergence of all of these factors indicates that Chainlink will be the adaptor connecting these new uniform global banking standards to the emerging industries of blockchain and distributed ledger technology, and that this will be the case regardless of whether an institution is using a public decentralised platform or a private, permissioned consortium chain.
