The idea is to accumulate as much btc as possible since it is a perma bullish asset and especially now that usd is worthless. Honestly it seems like investors are playing this game of chicken where they believe BTC is worthless magic beans, but they also believe that it has potential to skyrocket around that number and become a stable inflation hedge. So they play the game a little 'just in case.' And then word gets around and they all play and all hold. Which only encourages more people to play the bitcoin holding game, and thus it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy
