Good aesthetics have been removed from American culture. Is it profitable to create a city that looks good for the sake of looking good? Yes, Paris, Detroit and Chicago WERE proof of that. But traditional development is problematic because it showcases divergent cultures. When we have flat shoebox architecture, all glass phallus buildings and ikea furniture, there isn't any culture in any of those things. They are plain and void of artistic vision. They cause depression which leads to pharmaceutical profits.
