Anyway that set is fucking sweet bro, how long did you spend cleaning them up? That old continental silverware is remarkably beefy, normal place-setting spoons or forks weighing 80-90+g each is hard to get used to when we're accustomed to pieces which weigh just 1/2 or 1/3 as much. Anyway the wear on the fork tines making one side much shorter is probably just from being used and scraped against plates for many years. I've seen plenty of old sterling forks that were used for decades and display the same kind of unevenly worn-down tines, though the wear on yours is more dramatic than most. Maybe the people who looted and used them had low grade unglazed pottery plates or something like that which wore them down more than fine smooth porcelain or china would?
