your dad scared you and said OMG THE MARKETS CRASHING SELL IT

and now you have to pay all that tax and reduce your stack all because you accidentally "realized" your gains even though you didnt want to realize anything

you were just afraid

and this swing play could have actually did nothing and the stock crabs yet you still going to have to pay the full realized gains when you sold it

its not fair it rewards stupid people who want to keep money in during a crash
