Repeated rejections around $280. That's why. The technical picture looks bearish as fuck. Also, on fundamental side, there is a lot of skepticism about trade negotiations being concluded in a satisfactory way for the US. Either a deal gets done and it's mediocre, or talks fall apart and markets tank. Not much hopium floating around on wall street for a possible GOOD deal. As far as blue chip earnings are concerned, those have been generally underwhelming so far this year, too.
