When they flap their clear beetle wings, an air current starts circulating clockwise in the green shell traps above the clear wings the way sound goes around and around in a bell. It creates a small vortex that sucks air up creating lift. I'm just guessing, is there anything to this, physics anons?
Evolution has created incredible biological contraptions that we can't match (the human brain is better than any computer). Even the 'hive mind' of ant colonies is little understood. We should look to nature to see what's possible.
