The reality is that organic demand for actual working products at the moment are not big enough to compete with the demand from hype and speculation in this space. Augur & BAT are two examples of actual working projects that can be utilized now but does not capture enough of the market to catch on for a large market cap. Unfortunately Monero is a project that falls into this category. Until organic demand becomes strong enough it will always be left behind by projects that get pumped by promises and speculations. The good news is that until these projects can fulfil or exceed their promises, the pumps don't turn out well in the long run.
