40.6 mm should fit almost every 1-ozt round/coin, but most of them will have room left over. I'm nearly done with a 250-count box of 39 mm after having gone through two 50-count, and just opened my second 250-count box of 40.6 mm. I organize mostly by country/mint in tubes.
Buy them in bulk... you will eventually use them and the economy of scale is worth it.
