these other "cheap" gas platforms always have hidden fees that make up for the gas fees you'd pay on ethereum. saucerswap on HBAR is charing me like $18-$40 per transaction as a service fee even though it cost 1/100 of a penny for the swap.

I'm not even anti-crypto, but it's obvious the vast majority of them are scams. The ones that are more serious (like Filecoin, which I have a bias towards) are almost completely ignored.
