The economy is a global pyramid scheme that, without explicit intervention, centralizes ever-greater proportions of capital and resources into ever-smaller numbers. It does this by nature, because its nature is the mechanism of natural selection, selecting for financial survivability.
Unless you're a big guy, (You)r specific role in the stock market is the realization of that centralization of capital (by gambling your money away), or else acting as an artifact of a bygone era whereby questions of information and mobility restricted capital from achieving the boundless power it now wields.
Invest in RSP and other funds that derive their value from firms that the economy cannot afford to lose, because if/when those start going the house of cards will only survive at the great expense of those at the bottom. Simple as. Don't be a degenerate fucking gambler.
