Came back and i'm greeted with the only substantial reply yet

>mixers yadda yadda
To be honest I haven't used one in many years nor really keep up with how much or less secure they have become. But this really isn't an issue because as I've already stated several times, I see the utility in XMR. It's just the holding it I needed convincing with

>Monero is fungible, Bitcoin isn't and its fungibility woes are set to worsen over time. That right there is reason enough.

Everyone ITT thinks I'm holding BTC and I'm not. I'm looking for -the best- places to park my money. Not just XMR vs BTC. Which is why I came here looking for someone to sing its praises. The fungibility argument is a plus.

>OK then, as the counterparty I'll require a fat 25% premium for assuming the risk of having your potentially tainted coins dumped on me.

Again, I don't hold BTC. I can swap to whatever asset you're willing to trade for, with the anchor being USD. Now we could argue how much longer USD has as an anchor of value, but it doesn't really matter. You won't make all of your purchases with XMR. Not enough entities will accept it. There is something that you will want outside of XMR. Whatever my preferred revenue generating asset is, I'll find a fair trade easy enough.

I think my major issue is this:
If XMR doesn't have enough incentives to HOLD it, then it will slowly depreciate in value relative to other assets. It will retain some value because of it's privacy, but it will always have that dark shadow or criminality over it, preventing it from being truly ubiquitous. Maybe I'm wrong here, but I don't suppose I am.

AGAIN, I understand why you'd want your holdings to be private. I understand why you'd want your transactions to be private. But I can't park my wealth in XMR for the fears above. It will simply be outperformed by other assets in the space. Hard.
