equity valuation isn't equal to the actual productive strength of the economy. In general, if the economy is more productive, equity prices (in real terms) will rise. But it is possible that asset valuations can become overvalued, even if the underlying economic health doesn't have any major problems.
So betting on a short-term pullback in equity prices isn't the same as betting against the economic activity of the world. It's just a position that sees current valuations as too high.

not just with the fed: in all realms. data is what you make it. control the information, don't let others control your information.

if you go hard short, don't do it because you don't understand the fact that the fed says 'data dependent' with a small wink and nudge. Not a huge wink and nudge, understand, they still have some bounds on possible behaviors, but they aren't robotic.
