Desu I just wanted a job that I can do by the sea in a cheap and warm country and where I get paid relatively well despite just drinking beer all day instead of working and internet was a huge help in achieving that.

I feel like I've learned more in IRC and frogposting shitholes than I did in university.

>How much of a gamble is day trading?
It's not just a gamble you will lose it all. 99% chance

>I currently have 5k starting capital. If I spend a year gaining as much knowledge about short-term markets, and have the discipline to follow my own plans, is there still a strong chance of me crashing and burning?
Yes , if you have no experience trading you'll shit your pants.

>Is my starting capital insufficient?
Yes

I gave up the day I realized every rich person you see or hear about was born into a rich family. the last time to make it in this country was 100 years ago.

You are given a million USD, but you can never invest into crypto or crypto derivatives ever again. (and no one else can do it for you either, no tricks!)
Would you take the deal?

My dad has $6k in his 401(k).

He's retiring in about 10 years. My mom doesn't have any kind of retirement savings. They have $3k in cash saved up. This was all revealed to me recently. I had no idea they were so financially irresponsible and every time I remember how little they have saved up it spikes my blood pressure.

I asked them their plans for retirement and their only idea is to live off Social Security until they die. I tried explain why they don't want to spend the last 20 years of their lives on the edge of poverty (especially because they're definitely planning to boomer it up and go on a bunch of expensive vacations they can't afford (which they've already been doing with increasing frequency the last few years). I don't know what the fuck they've been doing with their money the last 20-30 years.

What the fuck can they do? What's their best option to not be entirely broke in their 60s and 70s? So far the only thing I can think of is having my dad max out his 401(k) contribution, it won't be enough but it'll be something, and selling the house for something smaller and putting whatever profit into an index fund. What else can they do to soften the blow of retirement?

Bank after bank are failing and literally nothing has happened.
It goes to show that fiat currency, bailouts and Keynesian economics work.

I applied for a job about a month ago and got no response back yet. The job offering is still up which means they haven't filled the role yet. I know its a job that won't receive many applicants because it's unique in nature and there is a labour shortage anyways. Before you write me off, I got a guy I know who works in a similar field to check my cover letter and C.V. and he said it was pretty solid.

Is this something that happens or should I just assume they don't want me? I'm still holding out hope but I'm getting anxious.

why do rich people keep chasing money more and more?

like you have enough money to retire on a florida beach but these old bags of bones are still working until the day they die just hoarding wealth for essentially no purpose.

they already have everything and can’t even spend their money in their lifetime. but they still just crunch profits and work until they die. look at biden throwing an entire country in the meat grinder and he can’t even walk and talk anymore.

>they literally think I should just stay at the same company even if I have an opportunity that pays more because 'it looks better'
>sister who sold her life to the military agrees
