All PoS systems turn into basically oligarchies, with a few large players (sometimes 1 as for Solana currently) being able to decide voting outcomes all by themselves.

It isn't "your" currency if someone else can so easily control it or attack it (and somehow short it to still gain more than they lose from losing value of the network they hold coins from).
And they can hide easily, too. They'll simply split up their coins into smaller portions, spin up several AWS instances to stake separately and when the voting happens it looks as if 50 guys voted, when in fact it was only 1.

Proof of Work is the only viable solution. PoW miners are enforcers, but they don't make the rules. And once the system is scaled up it isn't even bad for the environment anymore, especially compared to overall energy use of the systems it will replace.

This is why not a single PoS system has a longterm future. And that's discounting that they are all unregistered securities with massive pre-mine from the founders (yes even ETH since they'll switch, fkin morons).

They are correct. BTC is a piece of shit.

Bitcoin (Ticker: BSV) on the other hand could replace VISA and Mastercard today.
