Honestly, for a /biz/ options coomer, -33% is shockingly good risk management. Be glad you stopped there and didn't double down like the rest. 40k is a lot of money but it could have been worse especially since you at least briefly reached 6fig hell.

If you haven't already, now would probably be a good time to rotate, say, 50% or so of your port into low-risk stuff like index funds and tbills. Or maybe all of it if this will be a "rebuilding" year. You could take this as an opportunity to focus on raising your income if you want some time away from the markets.
