you really aren't cut out for long term buy&hodl if this is you. people with a time horizon of at LEAST a year if not multiple years look at these massive dips as buying opportunities and they know it's going to be worth more years from now so they don't give a fuck and DCA in properly. yet here you are, freaking out and it hasn't even been a whole week yet. a week!

my suggestion, and what im doing? stick to day trading. still plenty of money to be made (especially during these volatile times), risk management is piss-easy because there are no gaps intraday (on real stocks not penny shit), many stocks have super tight spreads (AMD is often $0.01), and stop losses actually function (stop loss orders don't work AH only intraday).

a lot of trading is about your personality and mindset, surprisingly the actual strategies are only a very small part of it. if you can't mentally handle hodling long term then don't. it doesn't matter if it's effective if it's going to keep you up at night constantly fretting over it. i'll be honest though and say im not hodling right now either, not because i can't handle it though, i stopped because the market is completely disconnected from the fundamentals due to the govt's response to the pandemic. when things return to some form of normalcy i'll consider long term hodling again, but who knows when that will be. doesn't mean i can't still make plenty of money day trading though.
