I've heard conflicting reports, but a lot of people are repeating what you've said - you can't redeem USDT for USD. But isn't that what it's purpose is? Also, I'm thinking if for some reason a lot of people want to get out of the market, they convert their coins to tether and then convert the USD. If there's no USD then the exchanges become insolvent and folks are left with nothing. Sorry for being repetitive; I'm trying to understand.
