The AMZN explanation for the big miss was classic Bezos. He tried to pawn it off as 4 billion spent to protect workers, thus address AMZN's other problem, an impending worker strike. Admit one problem, and try to use to use it to solve another.

It's nonsense of course, AMZN is going to have rough weeks ahead. But it's great for me. The two bags I've been meaning to add since March have been priced out because of AMZN's oversized weighting in them. AMZN tanking first on earnings, and then on a gneral strike, is going to drag many other things down with it.
