Volume for stocks is how much activity (buying and selling combined) is happening. For instance, when ESI was getting railed by the government, it had very high volume, but it was almost only everyone getting the fuck out, and a few retards trying to buy to get a quick buck. A crazy Chinese meme stock making 600% in a day will usually have low volume at the start (cause nobody heard of it) and then suddenly it goes fucking bananas.
