This is actually the correct answer. Irish nationalists get really pissed off by this fact, saying that Ireland isn't British. But the morons only think in terms of politics, not geography. As a rule when it comes to archipelagos, the cluster of islands are named after the largest island, with Great Britain being the biggest. Ireland is not only next door to Great Britain, but it's on the same continental shelf. No amount of screeching the Irish nationalist do can deny this fact.
