dig down at the top of the culvert and remove the top layer of garbage infested rocks and gravel, look for where a layer of silt and course gravels formed on the bottom of the culvert, if you have gold in your area this is where it will congregate. good luck anon!

dont tell me that if I could I would strip mine every last little tributary while floating down steam in a Draga boat. The amount of gold just sitting out in the wilds down there must be insane.

its fairly simple, but actually learning to use a gold pan properly takes serious time and practice. Learning how water ways move gold and how the gold in your particular area likes to settle takes time too.

It might take a while to figure out, but dont give up, if your in gold country, find a spot with history of gold and dig enough holes, you will start finding gold.

If you want to try and see how good you are at panning, try this. Put a big pile of dirt in your pan, and add a lead bullet. Pan into a tub and see if your bullets still there. If not, than you need to keep practicing. I ve got it down to about a minute on average for a full pan, but old masters like the guys I apprenticed under can do a pan in moments.

its worse when you pick it up fresh out of a creek bed. The promise of a little heavy yellow pebble has caused wars, murder and whole populations to move.

I didn't do to bad today, but my mentor "Trapper" Dave and his wife cleaned up this in three days. Lucky bugger used one of my rocker boxes to do it too.
