It seems so strange to me, like he is said to be representative of

But to me, he just seems like a fickle, slightly narcissistic and often confused old man. Not a dark lord. It bothers me because in my country, now anything deemed "right wing", is associated with Trump. But he doesn't really have any affiliations with "far right" stuff to begin with? Maybe some of his followers or colleagues, but not him. I have never seen people react so strangely to a bogeyman. Your Bush did more damage by entering into two devastating wars, but he was treated like a clown.
It's damn strange.
