https://bitcoinist.com/ripple-sec-update-undisclosed-meeting-next-week/amp/

New meme date of May 8th, but I would recommend ignoring it.
The article lays out why it's not credible.
The real reason I'm linking the article, is they discuss the possibility of a settlement between the SEC and Ripple AFTER judge Torres delivers her verdict.

At first, I was like, why the fuck would Ripple settle with the SEC after they win?
To stop the SEC from filling an appeal against Judge Torres' verdict.
A settlement, post verdict, would benefit both sides.
It prevents Ripple from having to suffer through years of appeals.
Years that would continue to restrain it's business growth in the US.
Imagine if the SEC appeals to the district court if appeals.
SEC loses.
SEC appeals to the supreme court.
Imagine how long that process would take.
By settling, Ripple could end the legal cloud over them permanently.

The SEC benefits by saving face.
Instead of a straight lose, they could get a settlement.
