are you serious? redundancy. a node going down and not providing the data is highly problematic. there's also the second aspect that multiples nodes ensures vailidity of the data provided.
the anology that sergey once used was that some space components had ~25 redunacies as it was worth spending taht amount of money to ensure the safety of the vehicle.
same here, contract architects will scale their security dependent on their needs/risk
