If Pan Man or any other Pan anons are here (guess later, at burger-hours…), I need someone to confirm my theory (or to tell me I'm retarded, should that apply):
Unlike you folks out west, we're not in flood, but we're (finally, after 2 years of drought!) in mid to slighly elevated water levels again. So I can finally look at the flow over some structures that interested me, but that I haven't yet checked out.
That "basin", behind those two boulders (a) now looks rather promising, right? (a) is like the first big obstacle the water hits at this slight inside bend. If anything gets into that basin, it probably stays there. Probably won't hurt to clean it out. (P) is roughly the spot from where I took the lower pic at low water.
I think I posted another shot of this spot a while ago and pan man immidiately pointed in that direction.
also, (b) is some concrete structure with some cracks and lots of moss at the top, peaking out at low water, with some neat riffles left of it. Not really a priority spot, given (a), but probably worth checking out.
