yes exacltly, forward testing/ live testing is more important than back testing.

It took me 2 years of spending ridiculous time at the charts before I had a system which was reliably proven and "live tested" on a demo account. It's funny because my demo account started as a way to gain data but I became quite possessive over it and keen to watch it grow.

Pic related is my return since the start of the year. Is this good? I don't know and don't care. It's covered more than my yearly salary for the year waging and I've got 6 months to keep it growing.
