Imagine being able to fork Facebook, but instead of simply forking the application, all the users and their data would be carried over to Facebook2. Now imagine if you could do this in a manner where each user secured their own data (instead of Facebook hosting the data at some data center for example).

Applications on Holochain are more like frameworks instead of isolated ecosystems. These frameworks are built to serve users without hoarding their data (this is why it is called an agent-centric model instead of a data-centric model).

Anyone can essentially fork (or merge) any dApp on Holochain (while carrying over users and their user history/data) and modify the application as they wish (for example, Facebook2 can introduce a dislike button). This opens up huge possibilities for dApp development and create a rich ecosystem.

These applications are run on Holochain but there needs to be a way to access this ecosystem. Everybody is used to typing in a URL to access a website. Today, most are paying AWS to host websites and to use their data centers. Holo is an application that runs on Holochain. With Holo, users can use their spare storage and computing power to host websites which are essentially portals to these new dApps running on Holochain, and they get rewarded with HOT for doing so.

Holochain is simply the best ecosystem for dApps that we know of. It has been in development for longer than Bitcoin and the team's GitHub page is second to none. Holo is the means in which users will access this ecosystem. Of course, DYOR and then you will be able to see past the incredibly weak FUD that is spread on this board. Good luck.
