OK, but what if Powell is panicking about that credit crunch, hence the "skip"? Banks only have months left in them; they need a 100-200bps cut or their margins and activity are kill. Especially with post-SVB regulators on their asses.

Maybe he tries to have it both ways: amend BTFP to be a cheaper lifeline while hiking another 25 in July?
