You didn't make a case why that would be "the most important thing". One can just as well argue that blood line is a spook and not save from nihilistic realization. The fact that the rich might be spooked and successful at it doesn't imply in the least that it's worth it to do so.

"adult life" is first and foremost dictated by the age you make babies, accidentally or not, if at all.

It determines whether you have your afternoons for yourself, whether you keep reading past age 24 or so. Then and only then comes factors such as internet addition that may fuck you up.

"All you have to do" is keep reading, stay lean and understand how your body/mind react to stress. If you get that down, you can stay social and also fuck 20 year olds till you're 40. But to get into this sort of discipline is a challenge that almost nobody is equipping themselves for.

Requirement is that you don't have kids, or plan to get some in the short term. And you must accept that you're likely going to fail. If you're asking if it's more interesting as a life experience than continue to wage for another 10 years, then sure.
